This visa stream lets you visit Australia as a tourist, to go on a cruise or to visit family and friends.

With this visa you can

  • visit family or friends.
  • be here as a tourist, for a cruise, or for purposes other than business or medical treatment.

  • have enough money for your stay in Australia
  • not work in Australia
  • you must be outside Australia when you apply and when we decide your visa

ELLIGIBILITY

  5. Pay your debts to the Australian government
  6. If you owe the Australian government money, you must have paid it back, or have arranged to pay it back.
  7. Have enough money. You must have, or have access to, enough money to support yourself while you are in Australia.
  8. Be a genuine visitor
  9. Best interests of the child
  10. You might not be granted this visa if it is not in the best interests of an applicant under 18.

THE FOLLOWING CONDITION(S) MIGHT BE ATTACHED TO THIS VISA:

8101 – No work Can you convert Australia visitor visa to work visa

8201 – Maximum 3 months study

8501 – Maintain adequate health insurance

8503 – No further stay

8531 – Must leave before visa expiry

8558 – Non Resident

 

TO APPLY FOR AN AUSTRALIAN VISITOR VISA (SUBCLASS 600), YOU CAN FOLLOW THESE GENERAL STEPS:

 

  1. Check eligibility: Review the eligibility criteria for the Visitor Visa (subclass 600) on the Australian Government’s Department of Home Affairs website to ensure you meet the requirements.
  2. Gather documents: Collect all required documents, including a valid passport, completed visa application form (Form 1419), proof of funds to support your stay in Australia, a letter explaining the purpose of your visit, travel itinerary, and health insurance.
  3. Apply online: Create an ImmiAccount on the Department of Home Affairs website and complete the visa application form (Form 1419) online.
  4. Pay the fee: Pay the visa application fee. The fee varies depending on the type of visa and your location.
  5. Biometrics and health checks: Depending on your country of nationality, you may need to undergo health examinations or provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo). You will be notified if this is necessary.
  6. Submit your application: After completing the application form and uploading all required documents, submit your application online through your ImmiAccount.
  7. Wait for a decision: Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email. The processing time for Visitor Visas can vary, so check the current processing times on the Department of Home Affairs website.
  8. Receive your visa: If your visa is approved, you will receive a visa grant notice with the details of your visa. If your visa is refused, you will be notified of the reasons for the refusal.

It’s important to apply for your Visitor Visa well in advance of your planned travel date to allow for processing time. Make sure to provide accurate and complete information in your application to avoid delays or rejection.
