- English language proficiency: The candidate must provide the results of any accredited English language proficiency exam to demonstrate his level of fluency in the language.
- • Points for overseas experience (experience outside of Australia): If the candidate has worked abroad for three, five, or eight years in the designated field within the previous ten years, they are eligible to receive points.
- Australian Experience: If the candidate has full-time experience working in any of the occupations mentioned on the SOL, they can claim points for that experience. If the candidate has one, three, five, or eight years of Australian experience in the nominated field during the last ten years, they are eligible to receive points.
- Points for qualifications earned outside of Australia are known as overseas qualifications: Applicants may claim points for degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral levels that are recognised.
- Study in Australia: The candidate may be eligible to receive extra credit if they completed a course there for at least two academic years.
- Residing and Learning in a Regional Area: The candidate may be eligible for extra credit if they have fulfilled the Australian study requirement of residing and learning in a “regional low population growth metropolitan area” for a minimum of 2 years
- Partner Skills: If the partner meets the minimum standards in terms of age, English language proficiency, qualifications, and skills assessment results, the applicant may claim points in this category.
